What makes our regional forest project so special?

Our long-term goals
Our commitment does not end with a project year. We plan our environmental activities conscientiously and with foresight:
We will continue to store CO₂ until at least 2029 – regionally, transparently, and traceably. Regional reforestation remains our focus. Every year, we invest in a project volume of at least 100 tons of CO₂ storage.
We voluntarily and additionally offset unavoidable emissions through certified international climate protection projects with recognized standards.

Our measures are validated and documented. For each project year, we receive a corresponding certificate from DEUTIM. This certificate transparently confirms our contribution to international CO₂ compensation and CO₂ storage.

Different tree species were planted on an area of 1.59 hectares (a total of 2,090 trees, supplemented by natural regeneration). In the planting period of autumn 2024 and spring 2025, DEUTIM created the NICO forest with sessile oaks, coastal firs, hornbeams, European beeches and sweet chestnuts. Our regional reforestation commitment is carried out in close partnership with DEUTIM, our expert for climate-resilient mixed forests.
DEUTIM does not simply plant trees:
The projects include site-appropriate reforestation, silvicultural maintenance, monitoring, soil protection and environmental education. This not only safeguards ecosystem services, but also transforms monocultures and repairs ecological damage.
